Rogers Video contracted Tender Retail to provide integrated payment systems to each of its 279 stores in November. The systems, which will allow Rogers to process payments from all sources using a single, high-speed system, is part of that company’s overall point-of-sale system upgrade.

“We’re putting in more than 1,500 terminals from British Columbia to Nova Scotia,” says Tender Retail’s President, Steve Brook. “Rogers Video is a significant client win for us, not only because it is the largest Canadian home entertainment and communications solutions retailer, but because in addition to our basic suite of point-of-sale software and hardware, it purchased an add-on allowing it to integrate gift and loyalty cards right into tills. That system allows them to offer even better customer service quickly and easily.”

Rogers purchased Tender Retail’s Merchant Connect VA (value-added) system, allowing the home entertainment retailer to interface with any of the loyalty and gift card service providers Tender Retail partners with. In addition, as a result of this deal Tender Retail is creating a new partnership with Datawave, allowing Rogers to provide pre-paid phone cards at every point-of-sale.
