Utilizing Tender Retail's Merchant Connect suite of electronic payment middleware, Shoppers Drug Mart stores will benefit by taking advantage of the most cost effective payment processors, all with a 2 – 3 second transaction turnaround for all of their gift cards, gift mall products and their loyalty Optimum programme.

In addition, the integration of Tender Retail's Merchant Connect allows Shoppers Drug Mart to be at the forefront in preparing for the pending introduction of EMV (chip) technology by card providers. Scheduled to roll out over the next few years, the new technology will significantly alter card payment processes at POS stations.
