Merchant Connect Direct (MCD) is an integrated DLL component within your existing POS system. The primary goal of MCD is to address the needs of developers who want embedded functionality within their software, without the need for additional applications to be running. This gives them direct control of the functions that MCD provides.

MCD is designed to reside directly on each Point of Payment machine. As with all Merchant Connect Products, MCD handles the interaction between the PIN entry device, the payment processor, and the communication protocol. This shields the Point of Payment application from having to maintain the unique requirements associated with all related elements.
